Karate Instructions

Kyler has been doing his own version of karate. Today he had me write up some instructions so that he could practice in a consistent manner.

Put your hands around and around. Then when you jump with your hands striking out, turn around. Next Karate step is to put your hands around and around and in some other places. Put your hand out when you are jumping and the same for the other one at your opponent.

Now we read these to him while he does the moves. It is pretty funny.

Climber Kyler

Kyler recently learned, by himself, to climb a rope. He has a specific order of how he does this. First he spreads his toes and pushes the rope between his big toe and 2nd toe. Then he stands up on the knot at the bottom of the rope and proceeds to climb up the rope by putting the rope between his toes. He gets to the top and then comes back down, dropping as he gets close to the ground. Pretty good for learning on his own. Posted by Picasa

Picasa Web Albums

Picasa recently sent me an invite to use their Picasa Web Album beta. I just downloaded it and sent all the pictures of our Las Vegas trip to their picture server.

It looks like they are trying compete with flickr (a division of Yahoo) which has a massive lead on Google.

It was very easy to get these pictures up on their server. They say that you have 250MB of free space. You can always pay for more.

The best thing about the upgrade, and I cannot believe they have taken so long to fix this problem, is the ability to edit the comments for each picture. In the older versions of Picasa, if you wanted to change a caption, you had to backspace and retype everything over. It was a major pain. Now you can edit the comments anywhere, but it still seems a bit clunky because it seems to be somewhat delayed when you click in the caption text. But you can do it and that is the big deal, for me at least.
