Again with the big words!

We had hot dogs tonight. After I added Ketchup to Ilea's she said, "That ketchup is so viscous it took a long time!" I laughed. I asked her, "What does viscous mean Ilea?" She instantly answered "A slow moving liquid." She cracks me up!

Oops, I did it again!

Hi All,

Unfortunately, what I did is sprain my ankle, again! Same foot. I fell of the back porch this time, home alone. I had been watering plants. I crawled to the water faucet and turned off the water, and then crawled into the house to get to the phone. That was about all I could take, and I called Kipp. He works about 45-50 min away. He wasn't at his desk, so I called a co-worker, Shane. He was there, and found Kipp (in an interview), and got him for me. Kipp headed home, and I tried some closer friends for a little more help. Pete (Victoria's dad) was home, and came over and helped me get on the couch, get ice, and get pain medication. He set me up with the phone, my book, etc. Marian was able to pick up all the kids, and kept them while Kipp took me to the urgent care again to check that nothing was broken. So we're back to square one - very swollen foot, couple weeks recovery, ankle brace and crutches. Thank goodness for Vicadin!

Jesus in Narnia

We bought the Narnia movie this weekend and watched it Sat night with the kids. They liked it a lot. Sunday, we were talking with them about who they thought Aslan was. We kept dropping big hints, and pointing out the similarities to the Easter holiday coming up, and asking who Aslan reminded them of. Finally Ilea said "Jesus". Then Kyler said, "I wonder if they used Jesus for Aslan's voice?"

Vocabulary

Sat, 4/8, we were driving in the car, and Ilea commented on how beautiful all the deciduous (I even had to look up how to spell it!) trees were. Kipp laughed, and told her he probably didn't even know that word until 6th grade! Ilea laughed, and said, "Dad, I've known that word since PRESCHOOL!". We tried to tell her it wasn't just that she knew what it meant, but that she used it correctly in everyday speech. Kyler was not to be outdone, so he piped up that he learned a new word, and that he knew how to say "Aw, Man!". He learned that from Swiper the fox on Dora, and he was proud he could say it.

Kyler in MOPS

We got a note from Kyler's teacher, Dixie, at MOPS. Here is what it said:

Dear Jenny and Kyler,
Every now and then a child says something that warms my heart and makes a memory. Well, Kyler did just that a few weeks ago. I had said that if my name wasn't Dixie, I didn't know what name I'd chose. Kyler immediately siad, "I know, TAFFY!" I think I've laughed over that a million times & told all my friends. What a fun thing! Love, Dixie
