Glorious Day

What a fantastic day it is! It's about 70 deg, and one of the first days for going barefoot. We got a new rug in our kitchen this winter, and it feels great under my feet. Ilea and Kyler are healthy, happy, and loving. Ilea is sitting up in the fort reading her book from school, while Kyler is up there listening and blowing bubbles. I had some time to myself today, so I could go to the stained glass store, go for a walk, and top it off with Starbucks. My house is mostly in order - at least the laundry is done and some of it is folded, and I hear birds outside. The best of all is that Kipp is carpooling today, and has been getting home early because of that. I'm just happy and content, and that's a great way to feel.

Non Stop Kyler

Have I ever mentioned that Kyler talks non stop? I'm sure I have. It's something so common, we almost don't talk about it, because everyone knows. Maybe someday we'll need to read this to remember, but I doubt it. Right now, Kipp is mowing the back yard. So you know how loud that is, and that someone mowing can't really hear anyone. On top of that, he's got his headphones on, listening to music or a book on tape, so he REALLY can't hear anyone. None of this is a deterrend for Kyler though! Kyler is up in the fort, yelling at Kipp almost non-stop, about the bubbles Kyler's blowing, about an airplane, about what he can see from the fort. Poor Kipp can't hear a thing, but he keeps smiling at Kyler now and then, and nodding.

Tickle me Kyler

At night Kyler loves for us to tickle him, and give him goose bumps. He pulls his jammies up and says to tickle his tummy, and points to one armpit. "You can tickle this one, " he says, " the other one is closed. It's for dad. "

Kipp asked Ilea to bring the juice container over this morning. It was pretty full, and awkward for her. Kipp said, "It's only half full!", and Ilea said, "Half full, or half empty, it's still heavy!"

More blog posts

I've got to get back into posting more things to the blog, rather than send out email with the contents (like I did with the below Google Maps post). The interesting thing is that I don't really want to post links to our house on this blog so I may still send email to the relatives/friends containing a link back to our blog and the more personal links to things like our house.

I'm not sure if I'm being paranoid or just prudent.

Google Maps

If you guys haven't tried out Google Maps (http://maps.google.com), try it. Type in your address and then when it loads, try dragging the pictures around with your mouse. It is a very well designed interface to maps.

Then check out some of the more interesting places that people have found.

Google's satellite images do not go down as far as Microsoft's Terraserver, but they do go all over the world.

Bless You

Kyler has a cold, and a runny nose. We were in the car and he asked for Bless You Things. It took a minute to realize he wanted a kleenix!
