Well, Jenny and Ilea took off for California today for a 10 day trip visiting the grandparents. This is the longest I have been away from both of them since Ilea was born. I really miss them.

I'm trying to keep busy but I suspect by the tenth day I will really be looking forward to their return. I guess it is about time for my TV dinner.

Setting: Yesterday. I got home and Ilea was wearing her Barney slippers

Dad: What have you got on your feet?

Ilea: thinking for a second... Toes?

Mark this day!

For the past few months, whenever we put Ilea in the tub and turn on the water, she would pee. Then we had a good idea. Let's put her potty chair next to the tub and before putting her in the tub, place her on the potty chair and turn the water on. Two months later it still wasn't working. Well, tonight was the first time she actually peed (That spelling doesn't look right) in her potty chair. Whoohoo!!!! It would be really nice to have a couple of weeks break from diapers before the next child comes. I'm probably being too ambitious...

Cute alert: Here are a few things that Ilea has done recently that made us smile

  • Two weeks ago, Jenny was sick (coughing and such). After a cough or something, Ilea asked Jenny, "Are you OK?"
  • We went to visit some friends last Thursday who have a little girl (Victoria) who is two month older than Ilea. Ilea and Victoria (Toria as Ilea says) really enjoy playing with each other. When we were getting ready to leave, I asked both of them if they could give each other a hug. They did and it was the cutest sight in the world.
  • Just about every night when we go to bed, after 10pm or so, we look in on Ilea and adjust her covers. We have also been working on getting her to say "I love you" but it usually comes out kind of mumbled. Well, last night we were checking on her and while we fixing her covers she woke up a little more than usual but was still pretty much asleep. I whispered "I love you" and she responded with her "I love you" mumble while drifting back to sleep. It was very cute.
