Eight stitches on Kyler's eyebrow

Last night we were visiting a neighbor's house and Kyler and Ilea were playing around (a little too much) with the neighbor's dog. Kyler got on their couch and fell, with a sharp crack, between their couch and coffee table. He got a nice split left eyebrow about 3/4 inches wide. It bled only a little bit but Kyler wasn't very happy. Jenny took him to the emergency room and Kyler got eight stitches as can be seen by the picture below:

Today he is doing great. He has no residual pain and he enjoys wearing a nice bright blue Cat-in-the-hat bandage over the stiches.

Jury Duty

I went to jury duty at King County Superior Court today for the first time in my life. When I first got there, I was thinking that this would be a very interesting experience. So far it has turned out to be a dud. I was one of about 100 jurers. After the introduction, they started calling names for jury selection. They went through about 80 names over the course of the day and didn't call my name once. So I sat there for about 8 hours (minus lunch and breaks) reading a book. What fun.

How to tell a joke...

Kyler has developed a unique style for telling a joke. First of all you start all jokes off with "Knock knock...". Then just before the punch line of a Knock, Knock joke, he starts a new joke. It goes something like this (actual joke to follow):

Kyler: Knock, knock
Dad: Who's there?
Kyler: Soap
Dad: Soap who?
Kyler: Why is a banana yellow?
Dad: Why?
Kyler: Because a banana has arms, hands, legs, feet, eyes, ears. Isn't that funny, Dad. Ha ha ha ha ha....

He says that because there is a Yogurt container that has a banana on it with arms, legs, etc...
