Deck progress...

Deck progress...My dad did a great job and has left the remaining work to us.
We are using CorrectDeck composite boards and their Correct-TY fastener system. We thought it would be sooo much faster and better looking than using nails or screws into the boards. It turns out that if the joists are not all at the exact same height the Correct-TYs are a pain in the butt to install. They tend to dip down on the side that the next board is to be placed and therefore will not fit into the groove on the next board. It took us about an hour and a half to figure this out and how to resolve it and make it work. That is why you only see 5 and a half decking boards installed. Oh well, we have next weekend, and the one after that, etc...

Looks good Kipp. I'm probably doing this in the fall - going to build a deck in the back corner and put a yurt on it... kind of a reading room, library, occasionaly guest house addition... I'll have to stop by and ask you about the foundation stuff - that seems like the hardest part.
